Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro announced in Munich: with focus on camera

Xiaomi has presented its two new high-end devices in the German city of Munich. The brand takes the canvas from the Xiaomi 12T and the 12T Pro. Both models are the new flagships and focus on the use of a (professional) camera. It is striking that unlike the Xiaomi 12S series, which was not released here, it appeared with Leica branding, but we do not see that reflected here yet.

Xiaomi 12T Pro

Xiaomi puts the most focus on the Xiaomi 12T Pro. This model is equipped with a 200 megapixel camera with which you can go in all directions. Thanks in part to the many smart AI algorithms, this should ensure beautiful images with a high brightness, good night photos and fast focusing. Thanks to the large sensor size, taking portraits and night photos should be child’s play. Despite the lack of a zoom lens, the camera can zoom in twice. You will also find the 2 megapixel macro lens and the 8 megapixel wide-angle lens on board. With ProCut it is possible to automatically crop a certain shot, whereby, for example, disturbing elements such as a passer-by can be removed from your image.

In addition, you can film in 8K with the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

There is even more to report about the Xiaomi 12T Pro, and that is about the chipset of the device. The phone is powered by the blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. We also see a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. The screen is the same on both devices, only the chipset is different. The Xiaomi 12T is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra processor.

The Xiaomi 12T is also different in another aspect, which is the phone’s camera. You can also go in many directions with this, thanks to the 108 megapixel main camera. This is also assisted by an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2 megapixel macro lens. Xiaomi indicates that this device should also take the best photos in low-light environments.

Another similarity between the two devices is the large battery capacity and fast charging. Both phones have a 5000 mAh battery, which can be charged with the brand’s 120W HyperCharge charger. It takes just 19 minutes to fully charge the battery. With the special AdaptiveCharge, the charging routines are recognized and the battery life should be optimized over time, which in turn benefits the health of the battery.

Availability

The new Xiaomi 12T and the 12T Pro will be in stores from October 13. With the Pro you can choose from 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB as memory configurations. The price of the device is 749 euros. For 599 euros, the 12T goes home in the 8GB/128GB storage variant and you can also opt for the 8GB/256GB variant.

Xiaomi gives you three years of Android updates and four years of security updates. In addition, Xiaomi gives you one free screen repair in the first six months.
