iPhone 14 Plus, really a plus?
The iPhone 14 Plus occupies a middle position between the base model and the Pro Max. Although the hardware is not much different from the iPhone 14 base, the screen is much larger. Is the Plus interesting for you? We’re going to look at that now.

The iPhone 14 Plus is the only one of this generation whose launch has been delayed until October 7. That is before the writing of this article, which means that not everything is known about this iPhone yet. But broadly speaking, it seems to be the basic model, but with a larger screen.
That means that the device does not differ much from the iPhone 13 in terms of hardware. For example, it contains the same processor. The only truly groundbreaking new feature in the two base models is the satellite function, which makes it possible to request help from anywhere in the world by communicating with a satellite.
Long battery life, fast charging iPhone 14 Plus
The second big plus of this model is that battery life is much greater, watching videos 26 hours instead of 20 hours. Since battery life is mentioned by smartphone users as the big problem, this is of course a welcome improvement. The same goes for the fast charging time. You can charge the device to half in half an hour with an Apple 20 W charger, the other half takes much longer.
In the United States, this device is competitively priced with a price for the entry-level model of $900, but the prices here in the Netherlands are unfortunately much higher, with € 1167 for the base model iPhone 14 Plus. This is probably due to the significant currency risk of the wildly up and down dollar and euro exchange rates.
Conclusion
Is your budget not too big and do you want to switch from, for example, Android or as a new smartphone to an Apple? Then the iPhone 14 Plus is definitely worth considering. It’s not a bad device, and a better buy than the base model, albeit not cheap.
For 100-200 euros extra compared to the basic device you have a large screen, longer battery life and slightly more memory compared to the predecessor with version number 13. But do you have a little more money? Then you better go for one of the two Pro models.
