Activision makes short work: 500,000 CoD players kicked out
The Call of Duty community has never had a reputation for being particularly friendly. Publisher Activision is not giving up the fight. With new rules and measures, they want to improve the shooter. The crackdown is now showing results.

Call of Duty: Activision swings the ban hammer
Call of Duty is one of the most successful game series ever. Unfortunately, such a large community also has to deal with a few black sheep who are the result of harassment or other offenses against their teammates stand out. Publisher Activision has been fighting this toxic behavior for years.
The measures appear to have been crowned with success. Activision has already announced this Having 500,000 accounts completely banned. There are also 300,000 accounts that were renamed because of a racist name, for example. There is now an automatic filter system for this that is supposed to recognize corresponding names. Most recently, the text chat in the game would now be moderated in 14 languages (source: CharlieIntel).

Activision unveils Code of Conduct for CoD
Activision’s actions will certainly put to the test soon. The beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will start in a few days. A large influx of new players can also be expected. For this purpose, Activision has also prepared new rules that all players will have to follow in the future.
The Code of Conduct can be summed up by saying that theirs is yours should treat fellow players with respectnot to cheat, and to report inappropriate behavior to Activision using the appropriate tools (source: Activision).
For PlayStation players, the future of Call of Duty on their favorite console has been a little uncertain lately. With the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, the shooter could theoretically only appear on Xbox Series X|S and PC. However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer makes it clear that Call of Duty will remain on Sony’s console for “at least a few years”.
