Apple ‘Reality One/Pro’ launches in 2023
Bloomberg reports that Apple has registered the brand names ‘Reality One’, ‘Reality Pro’ and ‘Reality Processor’. Is this the final confirmation that Apple will come to the market with virtual reality glasses?
In any case, the applications do contain the terms ‘virtual and augmented reality headsets, goggles and smart glasses. According to previous reports, Apple wanted to present this headset in early 2023. Earlier, when Apple established the name realityOS, we already suspected that Apple wants to use the term ‘Reality’ in this product line.
Will we see a glimpse at the keynote ‘Far Out’?
Apple’s applications for ‘Reality One’, ‘Reality Pro’ and ‘Reality Processor’ come at an interesting time. About a week before Apple holds the Far Out event. We are of course already expecting the announcement iPhone 14 and some new models of the Apple Watch here. It is therefore unlikely that the company will show this headset. But never say never!
Given that Apple registers several names, we can cautiously conclude that there will also be several models of the VR/AR glasses. On top of that, the name ‘Reality Processor’ is quite interesting. This points to the arrival of a special chip for this headset.
The registration of the brand names is unfortunately no guarantee that the glasses actually see the light of day. The brand names have been done through another company and have not yet been officially assigned to Apple. Yet Bloomberg is sure that this company is a so-called empty company is for Apple.
What do we already know about the Apple Reality glasses?
We’ve been hearing a lot about the Apple Reality One or Pro lately and are happy that we can finally give it a real name. These mixed-reality glasses should ensure a smooth transition from AR to VR and back.
That is why, according to the rumors, this Apple Reality will receive two 8K screens and a powerful chip under the hood. For example, the mixed reality glasses can combine the real world with a virtual world. No fewer than 14 cameras on both the inside and the outside contribute to this experience.
