Motorola presents Motorola Edge (2022) with Dimensity 1050 chipset
It’s busy with news about Motorola. Several announcements are mixed up, and on September 8 we can expect a new series in Europe. Now we are introduced to the Motorola Edge (2022). It is the first smartphone with a Dimensity 1050 chipset.
Motorola Edge (2022) is official
A new smartphone has been announced by Motorola. We previously had the announcement of the Moto X30 Pro and S30 Pro. These two devices may come to Europe under the Edge flag, although we will hear more about that on September 8. Now for some regions yet another new smartphone is presented; the Motorola Edge (2022). These standard models can be seen as a nice combination of a (Lite) flagship and mid-end aircraft.
We also see this with the Motorola Edge (2022). The smartphone comes with a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ screen; an OLED panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Motorola gives the screen HDR10+ support and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The weight is 170 grams, making it 30 grams lighter than the predecessor. The Motorola is the first device to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1050 chipset, which delivers a computing power of two times 2.5 GHz and six times 2.0 GHz. There is 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 5000 mAh battery with 30W charging or 15W wireless charging.
Unlike several other Edge models, there is no support for the Ready For platform. There is, however, a 50 megapixel camera for taking photos. This is assisted by a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and a depth lens. Present is optical image stabilization. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound, WiFi 6E and support for eSIM. For now, the device is only announced for the American market, where the device is going for $ 499. Nothing is known about a coming to Europe.
