9x hooray! Ninelings are celebrating their second birthday

Two years ago, a Malian woman gave birth to nine babies. It was world news at the time. The nines are now celebrating their second birthday.
The boys are called Mohammed VI, Oumar, Elhadji and Bah. The girls Kadidia, Fatouma, Hawa, Adama and Oumou. And they all blew out two candles. That was of course celebrated with cake, lots of family and photos on Instagram.

Guinness World Records
The pregnancy of 26-year-old Halima Cisse was big news last year. After 30 weeks of pregnancy, the Malian woman gave birth to five girls and four boys by caesarean section. The Guinness World Record previously stood at octuplets. In 2009, American Nadya Suleman gave birth to eight babies. They all survived and are now thirteen years old. Nines were born before, in Australia in 1971 and in Malaysia in 1999. However, none of those children lived more than a day.
