There is nothing more fun for your children than going on all the attractions in an amusement park. Also on holiday, because outside the Netherlands you will find plenty. We have listed the best amusement parks in Europe for you.

1. Disneyland Paris – France

This amusement park is of course number one. In Disneyland Paris you enter the magical world that consists of Discoveryland, Frontierland, Adventureland and Fantasyland. Each section has attractions inspired by famous Disney characters such as Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Indiana Jones, The Pirates of the Caribbean and of course Micky and Minnie Mouse. A ticket costs a few cents, but then you have something. Tickets from 56 euros.

2. Europa Park – Germany

Europa Park is the second most popular amusement park in Europe after Disneyland Paris. The amusement park is located against the fairytale Black Forest in Germany and is divided into 14 thematic areas that depict the European countries. If you want, you can travel through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Iceland in one day. In addition, you can choose from more than a hundred different and dozens of intense roller coasters and there are routes especially for small children and seniors. So take grandpa and grandma with you right away. Tickets from 47 euros.

3. Bobbejaanland – Belgium

Heading to French Riviera? Stick to a day trip in Belgium and visit Bobbejaanland. This amusement park is named after its founder Bobbejaan Schoepen and opened its doors in 1961. It has since grown into one of the best-known amusement parks in Belgium, with attractions that are divided into intensity: ‘intense’, ‘moderate’ and ‘calm’. Which one will it be? Tickets from 24.90 euros.

4. Parc Asterix – France

Fan of Asterix and Obelix? Then you have to be here. You will find this amusement park about 35 kilometers north of Paris. Children can have fun on seven roller coasters inspired by the two comic book heroes. Tickets from 44 euros.

5. Harry Potter Studio Tour – England

Okay, it’s not officially an amusement park, but the Harry Potter Studios are quite an experience for young and old. In a three-hour tour you will be taken along the different sets of the Harry Potter films. Check out the costumes, props and buy a ticket for a ride on the Hogwarts Express. Close to London, so ideal to combine with a city trip. Tickets from 47 euros.

6. PortAventura World – Spain

If you choose Northern Spain for a holiday, you can visit the Port Aventura amusement park. It is close to Reus airport and all the attractions take you to special worlds: the jungles of Polynesia, Imperial China, colonial Mexico and the Wild West with its cowboys. There is also a ‘Sésamoaventura’: a world dedicated to the well-known figures from Sesame Street. Tickets from 42 euros.

7. Tivoli Gardens – Denmark

In the heart of Copenhagen you will find Tivoli, the second oldest amusement park in the world. With attractions such as the Fata Morgana, as well as concerts, music festivals, theater and dance shows, there is plenty to do for all the family. Extra nice: the entrance fee is not sky-high. Tickets from 19.49 euros (for 8 years or older).

8. Fantasyland – Germany

Go upside down, race through sharp bends or skim past beautiful rocks: it’s all possible at Phantasialand. Children can have their face painted for free and receive a stamp for their ‘adventure book’ after each adventure. Afterwards they receive a nice certificate. You will find this amusement park in Brühl, just across the border near Cologne. Tickets from 47 euros.
