Chinese company Xiaomi today, as part of its separate brand Redmi, officially launched a global version of the smartphone Redmi Note 9T 5G. 90 Hz display and 48-megapixel camera
Redmi Note 9T 5G has a plastic body with a slightly serrated back for a better and more secure grip. The front is covered with toughened Gorilla Glass 5. The customer will be able to choose from two body colors – black and purple. The smartphone should have an unspecified waterproof finish against rain. The IPS display on the front has 6.53 inches, 2340 x 1080 pixels, a brightness of 450 nits and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
In the upper left corner is a hole for a 13-megapixel selfie camera. Unfortunately, the fingerprint sensor is not on the display. You will find it in the side button. Thanks to this, the back side belongs only to a 48-megapixel camera with three sensors in a circular ring. The main sensor is complemented by a 2-megapixel depth and 2-megapixel macro sensor. Recorded video can have a maximum of 4K resolution at a frequency of 30 fps.
Support 5G and large battery
The system of the older version of Android 10 has the extension MIUI 12. Its operation is taken care of by a 7nm chipset MediaTek Dimensity 800U. It should have 93% higher performance than the competing Snapdragon 665, but its main advantage is the integrated 5G modem. The RAM is 4 GB and the internal UFS 2.2 memory is 64 GB or 128 GB. A micro SD slot will be used to expand it. Connectivity is also provided by Bluetooth 5.1, an NFC chip for mobile payments, an infrared port for controlling home appliances or a 3.5 mm jack for headphones.
Enjoy stereo speakers on the sides. A 5000 mAh battery should provide two days of endurance. It is charged via a USB-C connector with 18 W charging. Xiaomi promises a 3-year battery life without a significant reduction in capacity. The price of the novelty is set at 199 euros for the 64 GB version and 249 euros for the 128 GB version with pre-orders. The standard price should then be 229 euros and 269 euros, respectively.
What is the competition like?
There are already several models in the lower class that offer 5G support. An example is the Realme X50 5G or OnePlus Nord N10 5G. If the customer is willing to pay a little extra for the brand, then he can reach for the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G smartphone. An alternative is the Motorola Moto G 5G.
