American McGee’s Alice vezme do televize „Snake“ » Vortex

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report that a television adaptation of American McGee’s Alice is coming up. The rights were acquired by Radar Pictures, and Canadian actor, screenwriter and director David Hayter joined the project. He became famous as the original American voice of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear series and also wrote the screenplay for the film X-Men and co-wrote the screenplay for the Watchmen comic book. Abandon Entertainment is also involved in the adaptation of Alice.

The TV adaptation will start when Alenka returns from her first trip, her house is reduced to ashes and her parents die in a fire.

The game series, inspired by writer Alice Lewis Carroll, received its first episode in 2000, and a sequel with the subtitle Madness Returns was released in 2011. Since then, fans have been waiting in vain for a full-fledged sequel, which American McGee repeatedly promises and obviously wants to realize. Hayter said the games were a groundbreaking retelling of the classic story. “They will take you inside the corrupt Wonderland and direct the light into shady nooks the world has never seen before. I am extremely excited to be able to bring this world full of madness and miracles to an audience around the world, “he said.

The TV adaptation begins when Alenka returns from her first trip, her house is reduced to ashes and her parents die in a fire. She is the only one to survive the terrible misfortune, but after repeatedly attempting suicide, she ends up in the institution before the rabbit lures her back to Wonderland. But it is a perverted reflection of the former reality, dark and violent. If Alenka wants to calm her mind and find out more about her parents’ death, she must overcome the local evil.

The theme of the film came to a head before the release of the first game. At one point, the film was to be made by horror specialist Wes Craven.

McGee himself praises his collaboration with Hayter and believes that the fans will feel the same way. According to him, he is the right one for this mission. David Hayter will write the screenplay and also take on the role of producer and showrunner. This is not the first time that an adaptation of this game has been discussed. The theme of the film came to a head before the release of the first game. At one point, the film was to be made by horror specialist Wes Craven. There has been speculation about lead actresses such as Natalie Portman, Milla Jovovich and Christina Ricci. Then the film was supposed to be animated for a change, later starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, but it didn’t matter either.

At Vortex, we last paid a closer look at Alenka’s sequel in January 2019, but since then the topic has come to the fore repeatedly. However, it is still true that we are still waiting in vain for the next part, which would close the originally planned trilogy. American McGee recently heard that the script for Alice: Asylum is complete, and he also expressed hope that EA could give Alice a chance, just as the comeback series Dead Space is going. Although in this case it is a remake and not a sequel.
