You know it, you are in a restaurant, but there is no menu in a language you understand. Quickly add Google Lens and the translation is made in no time. That saves you ordering frog legs instead of a vegetarian salad. In many cases it is nice to be able to open Google Lens quickly. Here are five ways to get to the app.

1. How to download the Lens app
First of all, you need to have the app. If it’s not pre-installed on your phone, you can download it from the Play Store or the App Store (if you’re an iPhone user). Search that app store for Google Lens, download and install the app. When you open it, you give permission to use the camera and the gallery and that way you can use Lens.
2. Lens within Google Photos
You can easily use Google Lens within Google Photos. You do that as follows:
- Open Google Photos
- Open any photo
- At the bottom you will see ‘Lens’
3. Lens within the Google app
You can also find Google Lens if you just want to search Google with the Android app. That is how it works:
- Open Google on your device
- Next to the search bar, look for the Google Lens icon (recognizable by the square with rounded corners)
4. Lens within the camera app
You can also use Google Lens within your phone’s camera app, allowing you to quickly switch between taking a photo and getting information. This is built into Pixel phones, but with other Android phones you will see the well-known logo at the bottom left if you want to take a photo with the camera app to switch to Lens.
5. Lens via the Google Assistant
Google Assistant has been our trusty assistant for years, and of course she can also help when calling up the Lens app. Just say, “Hey Google, use Google Lens” and it will open Lens.
Easy is not it? You found Google Lens in no time, because there is more and more integration with this super smart AI app.
What do you mainly use Google Lens for? Leave it now in the comments.
