5 tips to save money in February 2023

Many products have become significantly more expensive. The money is worth less. Inflation makes things difficult for many people and the topic of saving is playing an increasingly important role. That’s why we present our savings tips every first Monday of the month, which contain bonuses and discounts in everyday life.

This is how you can save money in February 2023

1. 50 euros bonus with an ING current account

There is currently a premium of 50 euros for opening a current account with ING. The only requirement: within the first four months after completing the contract, you must pay at least five times with the corresponding Visa card or your smartphone.

It doesn’t matter whether you shop online or in a store. ING will then credit the premium to your checking account. The account is also free for monthly cash receipts of at least 700 euros. This also applies to persons under the age of 28. Otherwise, a monthly fee of 4.90 euros will be charged.

2. Deutsche Bahn: Super saver price campaign

At Deutsche Bahn there are currently the so-called Super saver prices. The campaign runs until the end of March 2023 and offers tickets on selected routes for EUR 12.90 instead of EUR 17.90. With a Bahncard 25 or 50 you can also get an additional discount of 25 percent.

A trip then only costs 9.65 euros. However, the super savings prices are only valid for a specific train. Rebooking or cancellation is not possible. The Super Sparpreis tickets are available up to 180 days before the start of a journey.

3. Consorsbank: EUR 50 bonus when opening a current account

As with the ING, there is currently one for the opening Current account at the Consorsbank a prize of 50 euros. The account must be applied for by March 31, 2023. In order to receive the bonus, EUR 1,500 or more must be received from another bank in three months within the first six months of the conclusion.

The sum can also consist of several transfers. The account is also free for people under the age of 28 or with monthly cash receipts of at least 700 euros. Otherwise, four euros per month will be charged.

4. Withdraw money with the ING app and receive a 5 euro credit

ING customers currently have the option of Credit of five euros to collect when they withdraw cash twice in retail using the ING app. The deadline is February 15, 2023. Participating retailers include Budni, Rewe, Rossmann, Penny and DM.

To withdraw money, you have to enter a desired amount in the app. This then generates a barcode that has to be scanned by an employee at the checkout. If you withdraw at least 10 euros twice, ING will credit your checking account with 5 euros.

5. 100 euros bonus with the Consorsbank Depot

The Consorsbank currently offers a bonus of 100 euros for opening a securities account. Within the first eight months after conclusion, the deposit volume must be at least 10,000 euros. This can take the form of purchasing securities or transferring securities from a third-party bank.

However, savings plan executions, one-off purchases in the savings plan and account balances are not taken into account. The portfolio can in turn consist of shares, ETFs, funds or derivatives. Anyone who meets the condition will receive the premium in the corresponding clearing account in the following month.
