Buying tip: 5 smart security cameras in a row
Your home is your own place. At home you can withdraw from all the hustle and bustle for a while. You feel safe there.
At least that’s how it should be. Unfortunately, not everyone has this feeling. A smart security camera can help with this by giving you more peace of mind. Smart security cameras keep a close eye on your property 24 hours a day.
Is there anything going on that you should know about? Then you will receive a notification. We have listed five smart security cameras for you, so that you can be sure that you are getting a good one. This list is based on user reviews.

1. Ring Floodlight Cam
The Ring Floodlight Cam has a motion sensor and two integrated floodlights, two-way audio with a speaker and microphone, and a 110-decibel siren. You’ll scare the creeps with that.
The camera has a wide-angle lens with a field of view of 270 degrees and a clear Full HD resolution. So you can easily keep an eye on everything.
Filming at night is no problem as the Ring Floodlight Cam features night vision. The smart camera has both object and person recognition, which you can turn on and off independently. You can also determine the sensitivity and zones of the sensors yourself. Unfortunately, the Floodlight Cam does not support HomeKit.
2. Netatmo Presence
This smart outdoor camera keeps you informed about people, cars and animals on your property day and night.
With the zone function of the camera you can indicate exactly where your terrain starts. This way you will not receive a notification from everyone who walks past your house. When it is dark, the camera’s floodlight turns on the moment a movement is detected.
A big advantage of this camera is the free storage you get. Presence offers users the option to save videos to your personal server once they are recorded. Videos are also stored on the camera’s micro SD card, so you don’t have to buy it separately. In both cases, the video storage is completely free. Furthermore, the Presence camera can handle HomeKit. So you can control the camera from the Home app on your Apple devices.
3. Smartwares CIP-39901
In terms of functionality, the Smartwares CIP-39901 is not much inferior to the Netatmo outdoor camera. Both cameras are also very similar in design. However, this time you have to purchase a micro SD card yourself (with a maximum of 128GB).
Both Presence and the CIP camera have their own app, in which multiple security cameras, WiFi doorbells and other smart devices can be added.
It is therefore wise to purchase your smart devices from only one brand. This way you can see your entire security in a clear app. Unfortunately, this security camera does not have HomeKit support. You can, however, download your own app to still be able to watch the live images via your iPhone.
4. Foscam G4P
This camera is the cheapest on the list. It therefore lacks a number of features of the more expensive cameras, including a spotlight.
In general, the G4P is also a reliable smart camera that works via its own app.
At night, the camera sees up to twenty meters in the distance. With a lower budget, this camera is a wise choice. Unfortunately, this security camera does not have HomeKit support.
5. Ezviz C3X
We see multiple lenses more often on smartphones, but in the world of security cameras we don’t come across them often.
The Ezviz C3X has a double lens. One of these lenses records the ambient brightness and the other records the color information. The two images are then merged using Ezviz’s proprietary algorithm. This gives videos realistic, bright colors.
Also funny, the C3X lets you record your own voice for a custom greeting or deterrent. Is a burglar about to smash your window? Scare him with a pre-recorded scream. Unfortunately, this security camera does not have HomeKit support.
