When you hear the word Pokémon, many people think of Pikachu, Eevee, Bulbasaur or Charmander. No wonder, they are regularly used as the face of the brand. That doesn’t mean they’re the most popular, though. Fans have now revealed what it is.

There is now an almost dizzying number of Pikachu merchandise products. It’s no wonder that the cute yellow creature with the red cheeks is often the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Pokémon. It looks like a few pocket monsters have gained popularity in the meantime.

The most popular Pokémon among the predominantly Japanese players were sought via a Twitter poll. A total of 1,187,368 votes were received, including 568,167 via Twitter.
