Zayn Malik is rarely open about his role as a father and co-parenting with Gigi Hadid
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik (30) has not been involved in the interview cart for six years. Now he spoke in the podcast Call Her Daddy about his daughter Khai (2) for the first time: “She has brought color to my life again.”
In October 2021, top model Gigi Hadid and Zayn split. Together they have a daughter, whom they never show recognizable in the media. To Alexandra Cooper, the father opens up about his role as a parent for the first time: “Since I have my daughter, the main goal in my life has been to try to be a good example for her. In fact, that’s why I’m doing this interview. I used to get a lot of anxiety having a conversation like this, but I want her to be able to look up to me and proudly say, ‘My dad is doing this’.”
Co-parenting with Gigi
According to Zayn, co-parenting with Gigi is going very well. “We have a very good relationship for Khai. She is of the utmost importance,” said Malik.
“Certain things in life can change the way you look at things,” he added. “Since my daughter arrived, the most important thing in my mind is that I have to be a good example for her. There’s a point in adult life where everything is fuzzy, gray and dull, and she’s got that color back for me.” So sweet!
Dad jokes
Zayn also appears to be very fond of the ‘dad jokes’, which are very lame jokes that fathers often make. “I keep getting told I’m telling dad jokes,” he admits. “I’m like, ‘It’s okay. It is cool.”
