Zack Snyder’s ultimate Justice League is finally out

After the disappointing Justice League (2017), Warner Brothers now comes with the definitive version from director Zack Snyder.

Justice League came out in 2017 and had to emulate Marvel’s bombastic, ensemble cast concept. To say the least, that didn’t work at all and the film was received quite poorly. It was partly to do with behind-the-scenes rumblings, including director Zack Snyder’s departure. But don’t worry, the legendary comic-book fanatic has now released his version of the film.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

American director Zack Snyder had to leave the project halfway through the production of Justice League. Tragedy within his family prevented him from completing his passion project.

Fans, on the other hand, have been asking for years if Snyder could still ‘finish’ the project after the disappointment of the original film. Those prayers have been heard because on March 18, Zack Snyder’s Justice League is coming to HBO Max.

This is a version of the film composed by Snyder himself. That is to say that his vision for the film will finally be reflected. And you also get a lot of extras, because the director is not known for his critical editing process. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will last around four hours; roughly twice as long as the original.

As the cherry on the superhero cake, Warner Bros. reportedly about 70 million for the re-edit to shoot new material and get the CGI in order. That’s about a quarter of the original budget extra, which can make a big difference.

Because HBO Max is not available in Europe, Dutch film fanatics will have to wait a little longer. The streaming service won’t be available here until the second half of 2021.

Zack Snyder has been making superhero movies for DC comics throughout his career. Think of the epic Watchmen, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. He has also worked on Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad and Aquaman. He is known for his stylized, hard-hitting action, mainly visible in Sucker Punch and the 300 series.
