All you need to do is make sure your iPhone has the latest update and your Mustang Mach E is running the latest Ford operating system SYNC 4A. If you have a Mach E from year 2021 and above (model year 2022), you have that update anyway. Otherwise update.
You will then receive the above pop-up via CarPlay to connect your car and your smartphone. Then some data is exchanged and your iPhone knows the charging status of your Ford. Then the fun can begin.
