Most used passwords of 2022
Every year an overview is made with the most popular passwords of that year. Now the two hundred most used passwords of 2022 are also known. For the overview, researchers used data from thirty different countries, including data from the United States and Belgium.

The study also shows how long (or short) it takes to guess a certain password. It is striking that many people opt for extremely simple passwords, so that your data is of course not properly secured. Are you curious about the most used passwords in 2022? iPhoned put together the top ten of the world and of Belgium for you.
These are the most popular passwords worldwide
Last year ‘password’ was the most used password in the world. According to the researchers, this password can be guessed in less than one second. It is also striking that of the ten most used passwords worldwide, no less than eight can be guessed in less than one second. Here’s the full top ten most popular passwords in 2022 around the world:

People worldwide still opt for extremely easy passwords. For both men and women, ‘password’ is the most popular password. Words that only consist of numbers are easier to guess than combinations with numbers and letters or with only letters. ‘Guest’ is therefore a simple password, but slightly more difficult to crack.
These combinations are the most commonly used in Belgium
So a total of two hundred countries were included in the study. Unfortunately, no data has been collected from the Netherlands, but Belgium has been included in the list. This allows us to see which passwords were the most popular there in 2022. These are the ten most used passwords in Belgium last year:
