you have to wait even longer for these 5 functions

In a few weeks, the iPhone 13 will finally be presented. Every day we hear new rumors. That’s why it’s time for a round-up of features that really aren’t coming to the new iPhone 13 and rumors that are absolutely wrong.

Read on after the ad.

1. Touch ID in the screen

Face ID is very nice to unlock your phone. Look at your iPhone and it’s already waiting for you. Unless you have a mouth cap on of course, which could still be good these days. In that case, a fingerprint scanner à la Touch ID is better.

Although Apple is already working on a new version of Touch ID – which is located under the screen – it is not yet released this year. And Touch ID integrated in the on/off button (as with the iPad Air) does not seem to be coming this year either.

2. A new design

Last year’s iPhone got a completely new design for the first time since the iPhone X. The back with sloping edges was a thing of the past, and in its place we got a clean and flat design that is somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 4 from 2010.

The iPhone 13 will basically look the same as the 12, but with a smaller notch and a modified rear camera module.

Of course, the iPhone 13 will be available in new colors again. The hottest candidate right now? A new take on the already famous ‘Rose Gold’, seen in alleged photos of the iPhone 13.

3. An M1 chip in the iPhone

This year’s iPad Pro got the same super-powerful chip that was already in last year’s MacBooks, the so-called M1. Could it not also be that the iPhone gets such a powerful desktop chip? Well no, probably not, even if a designer had come up with a nice concept for it.

First of all, the M1 processor offers almost too much computing power for a mobile phone. This chip is very energy efficient, but due to the high number of cores, it consumes more energy than the average iPhone processor.

Secondly, the M1 is actually a derivative of the A14 Bionic chip from the iPhone 12. It is therefore more likely that Apple will put an A15 Bionic in the iPhone 13, which then forms the basis for an M2 chip. This could then be used for the iPads and MacBooks.

4. An iPhone 13 without connectors

There were once rumors that an iPhone with no connection at all would be released in 2021. Because why do you still need it? We can charge wirelessly, listen to music wirelessly and transfer files to our iPhone wirelessly. The former has even become particularly chic and simple thanks to MagSafe.

Unfortunately, but the iPhone 13 doesn’t seem to be Apple’s first phone without connections. Apparently Apple won’t be until next year.

5. A USB-C connection then?

But okay, if there must be a connection, will it at least be USB-C, like on the MacBook, iPad Air and iPad Pro? We have also heard a number of rumors about this in the past. Especially because of the EU, which wants all smartphones to have the same connection for charging.

In principle, usb-c would be the perfect solution for this. But because it is very likely that next year’s iPhone will no longer have connections at all, we do not see this happening for one model year.

iPhone 13 features – which ones?

So now you know what functions you should not expect when the iPhone 13 is presented in one or two weeks. But which one? Watch the video below in which we outline our expectations.
