You can now install MIUI 12 on Redmi 6 and 6A
Xiaomi introduced its MIUI 12 system more than a year ago, and shortly thereafter a list of devices that will receive an update to this system was published. The official Telegram Group MIUI Update Tracker contains the following information: “After a year of tuning, the stable version of MIUI 12 is available for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro phones. However, after thorough testing and development, the update cannot be performed as an OTA due to performance issues. However, we have installation files for users who want to try the update. ”, said one of the moderators.
So if you want to take a risk or have Redmi 6 as the second phone you do not use, you can download the new MIUI 12 system and install it manually. More detailed information about the installation itself can be found on the XDA-Developers website.
