You can now enable and disable closed captions on the Twitter app
For some it is essential, for others it is annoying: closed captions. That is subtitles with a little more. In addition to what is said, additional information is also displayed. For example, about which background noise can be heard, which soundtrack or which other sounds occur in a movie scene. ‘Laughter’, ‘Scratching violins’ and ‘hard footsteps’ are examples of this. Twitter has them too, but you can turn them off. This is now also possible via the app.
Closed Captioning
Closed captioning is especially useful if, for example, you have a lot of ambient noise, so that you cannot watch the video properly with sound (or if you are in a very quiet environment without earplugs). It is also very useful for people who are deaf, in order to get an idea of how a video is sounding. So it can be very important to turn it on, but at the same time it is often redundant information if you can already hear the sound. Then it is better to choose normal subtitles or no subtitles at all.
Twitter now also lets you choose, because in the app you can now turn this on or off. It is now rolling out to all Android and iOS devices. If you want to turn it on, you can press the CC button at the top right of a video on the social medium, turning it off works the same way. Previously, that was only available on the web: you couldn’t enable or disable closed captions in the app, because there were no closed captions available at all. Or it was just for phones that were already on silent.
The closed captions disappear automatically when you make a video larger, because the sound is turned on anyway. are you with a video no CC available on Twitter? This is because the video is not equipped with this technology.
With the official Twitter app of the well-known social network you can send short messages to the world or send people a private message. You can send photos or gif..
