You can now earn up to $215,000 from bughunting in Android Enterprise

If you’re good with computers, it’s worth working with Android Enterprise now. Google has launched a bug bounty program that allows you to earn up to $250,000 for the bugs and weaknesses you find.

Android Enterprise Vulnerability Program

The program is called Android Enterprise Vulnerability Program and is specifically for Pixel phones on Android Enterprise. The program pays out about the same amount as other Google bug bounty programs. As always it depends on the influence of the bug and the extent to which you have worked out the bug report how much you actually earn from it.

Google’s main reason for coming up with this initiative is to make Android Enterprise more secure. This is only part of it, because eventually Google will build in more security options as well. Handy that it comes first with the bounty program, so that bug hunters can immediately throw themselves into it when they are there.

Single sign on

Google is eager to change protocols when it comes to authentication, so prove someone is really who they say they are. The currently used WebView must then make way for Custom Tabs. Google seems better because it can collect trust signals and that increases the level of security. However, it is perhaps more interesting for companies that single sign-on becomes possible with all kinds of apps and sites.

As we wrote earlier, Google is also working to make it easier to separate private and work. From next year, as a Workspace user, even if you do not fall under an employer, you can better keep your work and private apps separate. Very useful for freelancers, who sometimes have a hard time finding the thin line between work and leisure.

Bug hunt open

In any case, the ‘hunt’ is on, so IT experts can do their best to put the software through a lot of testing and maybe make a profit. Happy hunting!
