You can now also use Tikkie with foreign numbers
Tikkie payment app can now be used with mobile numbers from abroad. That is good news, because in this way you can also use the tap system that the app offers as an expat or as a summer worker. Handy if you want to give a colleague money for a farewell present or if you have been sitting on the terrace with your friends.
Tikkie
Tikkie is ABN Amro’s payment app with which you can send people a payment request, for example to settle something. The name also comes from ticking off: putting things in order financially. And now you can also do this with your foreign friends, as long as they have a Dutch bank account. Our poll recently showed that payment requests from banks themselves have now gained a lot of ground: they are actually just as popular as Tikkie. Still, Tikkie is a bit more fun to use, partly because of the option to add a nice gif and the option to use Groepie for group expenses.
And now also more international. Tikkie does not indicate with which country numbers you can now use the app, but it indicates: “Good news! You can now also use Tikkie with mobile numbers from many other countries within Europe!” This means that friends and acquaintances who do have a Dutch bank account, but a foreign number, can participate.

You want to transfer money to a friend quickly. But you lost his account number. Or pay for that new book in your favorite webshop. But no idea..
Groupie
There’s another new thing in the app, as Groupie for group spending has also been improved. For example, you can now choose photos from your gallery and add them to your Groupie expenses: that nice cocktail that was actually way too expensive, or that invoice of those printed shirts for your football team with some visual support. In addition, Tikkie writes that the Groepie has put on a purple jacket, so that it fits Tikkie’s style more.
Recently, Tikkie was also brightened up with new functions, namely the option to make your own hurray-you-paid-gif and the option to add photos to Groepie: we already knew that, but now it’s actually here from the gallery, Tikkie writes.
Thanks Ronald, for the tick, um, tip!
