You can also run Android apps on Windows 11 in Belgium

Microsoft announces that Android apps for Windows 11 PCs are now available in more markets, including Belgium. Android app do not yet work in the Netherlands on Windows 11 PCs. Apps also perform two to three times better when it comes to graphics.

Android apps on Windows 11

With the launch of Windows 11 in 2021, it became known that the operating system is now more versatile because it can also work with Android apps. That was already possible in a select number of markets, but with the major feature update that Microsoft announced on Tuesday, it now also works in Belgium, Androidworld Belgium knows. In the Netherlands we have to be patient a little longer.

Windows 11 apps can only be installed via the Amazon Appstore, which contains about 20,000 apps. We tested it in the editors, but for now we couldn’t get Amazon Appstore to work yet, because our PC is still waiting for the major update from Microsoft that is gradually rolling out. Better performance with apps

Android apps work on the so-called Windows subsystem for Android (WSA), which is part of Windows 11. Microsoft has improved the functioning of Android apps with the latest update. That’s thanks to hardware acceleration, support for DRM, all kinds of network and security optimizations. There is also an improved operation of touch input in apps as well as mouse and keyboard input. Graphics-demanding apps now perform two to three times better. In addition, you can now also search for the apps from the Amazon Appstore via the Microsoft Store.
