You can already confirm payments by eye in the mBank application

Czech mBank has improved its mobile banking application, which now offers the option authorization of payments using biometric features client. This means that account holders and app users can use, for example, a fingerprint, iris appearance or facial features. Using a smartphone, they can send money or confirm some other steps.

Biometric authorization is available for payments made and changes related to payment cards, such as when adjusting payment limits. “In order for a client to use this authentication, they need to has enabled authorization in his mobile application settings. Subsequently, when confirming or implementing changes on the application card, he will be asked to place his finger on the smartphone that reads his fingerprint, or on the image of the face or iris, “says Lukáš Kiac, Head of Mobile and Internet Banking Development at mBank.

In order to increase security, processes that verify the credibility of the transaction as well as the cumulative amount of payments take place in the background of the payment. After reaching the specified limit, the application will request confirmation of payment using a PIN. In addition to this novelty, mBank clients can now also manage standing orders and one-off payments in the application.
