Xiaomi unveils its 4K TV Stick with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision
Xiaomi today announces its new 4K TV Stick, a new HDMI key that you can connect to your television to access various applications. This is particularly useful for people who do not have connected televisions.
A new HDMI key for Xiaomi
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is essentially the same device that launched last year. It has the same design as the 2020 model, with the same Micro-USB cable for power and the same built-in HDMI port. The changes are mainly made at the software level.
The HDMI dongle runs on Android TV 11. This allows users to have a recent version. It’s not technically the latest, Google recently released the final version of Android TV 12. But Xiaomi isn’t really to blame here, only Google uses it for a device… intended for developers. It will therefore be necessary to wait before having it on several supports.
In addition, the HDMI dongle has the certifications for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, which allows users to enjoy the best possible quality without any hassle including 4K. Xiaomi also mentions support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
On the technical side, the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K has an Amlogic S905Y4 chip, 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage space. There are also some changes to the remote with new shortcuts to launch Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Xiaomi remains silent for the moment concerning the date of availability and the price. For information, the 2020 model cost 40 euros when it was released.
