Xiaomi has shown a new smartphone that is equipped with a special screen. The screen continues on the sides on all four sides. A so-called quad-curved waterfall display.

A waterfall screen is a screen that extends over the sides of a smartphone. We already know smartphones where the screen continues on the sides, such as that of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and its predecessor. Xiaomi seems to go one step further with this development.

The manufacturer shares a video of a new concept smartphone. This unit features a quad-curved waterfall display and continues on four sides. This means that extra functionality can be added to the edges of the screen. The video shows that, for example, the battery percentage or notifications can be displayed, but a bar can also light up with new notifications. Text also scrolls nicely from the edge of the screen.

Due to the modern design, the smartphone does not seem to be equipped with ports or buttons; so something will have to be invented on that. It is not known when Xiaomi will present the new smartphone.
