Xiaomi Redmi Pad: This is what the inexpensive iPad competitor achieves
Even before the official presentation, many details about the Xiaomi Redmi Pad have surfaced. The Android tablet from the Redmi sub-brand will therefore have a 10.61-inch display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. A significantly lower price than the iPad can also be assumed.

On October 4th, Xiaomi will not only present new smartphones at an event, but probably also a Redmi LTE tablet. Now almost all features of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad have been leaked in advance. It is an Android tablet with an LC display that has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a diagonal of 10.61 inches. The contrast ratio is specified as 1500:1, the brightness is said to be up to 400 candelas.
When it comes to the processor, Xiaomi seems to have opted for the MediaTek Helio G99 decided, which clocks at up to 2.2 gigahertz. Depending on the model, there is also 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of UFS 2.2-based storage.
The strong battery offers a 8,000mAh capacity and should be able to be charged with a cable with 18 watts. A 22.5 watt power adapter is included in the package. The tablet is 7 mm thin and weighs 445 grams. Four loudspeakers certified with Dolby Atmos are included. The operating system is Android 12 with an adapted MIUI tablet interface.
There is a camera at the front and at the back each with a resolution of up to 8 MP. “FocusFrame” is intended to use a larger field of view when other people sit in front of the tablet.

The tablet is said to be available in Germany for “less than 250 euros” (source: WinFuture). For comparison: The current iPad with a 10.2-inch display is available from 379 euros. When it comes to the colors of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad, customers can choose between Graphite Gray, Moonlight Silver and Mint Green. Xiaomi may add a 5G variant later.
