Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 announced: beautiful design with Leica camera

Xiaomi has announced its new foldable smartphone as expected. After Motorola and Samsung, we are now introduced to the Mix Fold 2. It is clear that the Chinese manufacturer has paid a lot of attention to the design.

It’s a week full of foldable smartphones. Samsung came up with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4, Motorola presented the Motorola Razr 2022. Xiaomi could not stay behind and presents its latest foldable device this week. We are introduced to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. Just like the Xiaomi 12S models, we have also collaborated with Leica for the best camera experience, that is the intention. In terms of photography, the smartphone gives you a 50MP main lens, along with a 13MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom. There is no extra camera on the inside, but there is on the screen on the outside; and there you will find a 20 megapixel camera.

Much attention has been paid to the design. When unfolded, the device is only 5.4 millimeters thick. Weight has also been saved compared to the previous model; the scales on this model are 262 grams, where this used to be 317 grams. The square design immediately catches the eye. On the outside there is a 6.56 inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution; inside there is an 8.02 inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2016 x 1914 pixels. The fingerprint scanner is also integrated into the screen.

With the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 we see a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, together with Android 12 and the MIUI 13 interface. The battery capacity of the foldable is 4500 mAh and you can quickly charge it with a power of 67W. According to the manufacturer, the charging time should be 40 minutes. In China, the price of the 12GB + 256GB model will be converted to 1295 euros. Nothing is known yet about the arrival of the device to Europe, for example.
