Xiaomi is to introduce a smartphone with 200 W charging in the second half of the year

The charging speed of smartphone batteries is one of the parameters that has undergone the greatest evolution in recent years. Chinese company Xiaomi is one of the biggest pioneers in charging speed in recent years, and this year it wants to push its boundaries even further. According to the portal GizmoChina will introduce a smartphone in the next six months, the battery of which will be charged by fast charging with power 200 W.

Will the first smartphone with 200 W charging be the successor to the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra?

According to the portal, this is stated by an unnamed Chinese leaker, which has resources close to Xiaomi. Unfortunately, he did not confirm the more precise date of the performance, nor the name of the model, which should bring 200 W charging. It could probably be a model being prepared Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, was the first smartphone with 120 W charging.

According to the portal test GizChina from the end of last year is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra smartphone with the fastest charging on the current market. They charged a 4500 mAh battery to 100% in their test in 21 minutes. The second year ended the year-old Realme X50 Pro 5G, which charged a battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh to 100% in 33 minutes.

There are currently several fast charging technologies on the market

Smartphones have long been charged by slow charging with a power of 10 W. Charging speed as changed by the arrival of the USB-C connector and Quick Charge technology from Qualcomm, whose chipsets are used by most models. Qualcomm currently offers manufacturers the Quick Charge 4+ version of this technology in its top chipsets.

However, many Chinese manufacturers are developing their own charging technologies so that they do not have to rely on Qualcomm technology. An example is the popular brand OnePlus, which uses its own Warp Charge technology in its smartphones. In its latest flagship OnePlus 8T, it has a power of 65 W.

Fast charging with an output of 65 W and 66 W, respectively, is also offered by the flagship models of the Realme and Huawei brands. This limit was surpassed by the aforementioned Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra smartphone, which was for many months the only model with 120 W charging. The nubia Red Magic 6 Pro gaming smartphone, which was introduced at the end of last week, has now matched this parameter.
