Perhaps every year we hear that a breakthrough technology has been discovered to take batteries to a new level, but their implementation in practice is often very time consuming. So we have to thank every innovation that is to come in the foreseeable future. That’s why we were pleased to hear that the Chinese Xiaomi is improving its batteries and we should see innovated models within the next year.

Batteries with more capacity and better safety

The main innovation in battery technology for Xiaomi devices is a threefold increase in the amount of silicon in the cells. As a result, new batteries can offer the same size 10% higher capacity. Another improvement in space efficiency is the change in the rotation of the protection circuit module. It is newly rotated by 90 ° and thus the manufacturer has saved additional space that can be taken up by the battery cells themselves.

It was further improved as well chip for monitoring the full charge of the battery. It should now rely on more advanced algorithms to offer greater security and longer battery life. It should be especially useful when the phone is connected to the charger for a long time – for example, when charging overnight.
