In the second quarter of 2021, Xiaomi reportedly sold more smartphones in Europe than Samsung. A first for the Chinese manufacturer, which is ahead of the two historic giants on the Old Continent.
The time has come for the global mobile telephony market to recover. After two years weighed down by the global pandemic, smartphone sellers seem to have found the first step. If China has already seen Huawei, another historic player disappear from its top 5 sales, in Europe the situation has also changed. It is now Xiaomi which occupies the first place in overall sales to the detriment of Apple and Samsung.
Xiaomi carried by its range of Mi 11 in Europe but not only
Cheeky growth seems to be affecting Chinese smartphone manufacturers. The start-up status is no longer used to qualify Xiaomi. The company has rolled over the Old Continent in front of the best seller of telephones over the last three months with 12.7 million products sold. The company represents 25.3% of the market share and shows an insolent growth of 67% compared to last year. Good health that can be attributed to its new range of phones. Products like the Mi 11i that MeilleurMobile has been able to test have taken the manufacturer to a new dimension.
On the data provided by Strategy Analytics, two other Chinese manufacturers are doing well. In the last quarter, Oppo sold 2.8 million phones across Europe, recording growth of 180% over the same period last year. It is especially the progression of Realme which is to be noted. The young brand has jumped 1,800% compared to its weak figures last year. The recently launched brand even offers itself the luxury of entering the top 5 sales with nearly 2 million smartphones sold.
In view of all the figures given, the entire European telephony market is recovering. The second quarter of 2021 saw the sale of 50 million devices on the continent, a growth of 14%. When it comes to Samsung and Apple, the numbers are getting closer despite Xiaomi’s new dominance. The Korean company has sold 12 million smartphones against 9.6 million for the Cupertino company.
