In addition to the Xiaomi 12 and the Watch S1, the manufacturer presented the Buds 3, new wireless headphones. They have the advantage of having an interesting technical sheet for a price that is also interesting.
Buds 3, the new wireless headphones from Xiaomi
Xiaomi indicates that its Buds 3 support HiFi quality thanks to its dynamic transducers. They offer harmonic distortion of less than 0.07%. However, we will have to wait for the tests because the brand remains rather vague concerning the Bluetooth audio codecs used. It makes you wonder if headphones use SBC and AAC, which are the most common codecs on the market.
Another support is noise reduction (ANC). According to Xiaomi, this reduces outside noise by up to 40 dB. The brand offers three levels of active noise reduction.
For the rest, we are entitled to white or black headphones that weigh 52 grams. There is a charging box included, charging is done via USB-C (no support for wireless charging). Speaking of charging, Xiaomi says its Buds 3 can last 7 hours with the ANC. We go up to 32 hours if we use the charging case. On the other hand, there is the IP55 certification (splash resistance).
At the moment, the Buds 3 headphones are announced by Xiaomi for China. The marketing in the country will be done from December 31, there is no information for the international. Price side, it will be 449 yuan (62 euros) at launch then 499 yuan (69 euros) thereafter.
