“Xiaomi 13 Lite gets Apple’s Dynamic Island and is coming to Europe”

This Sunday we can contemplate the new Xiaomi 13 series during the announcement in Barcelona. Now there are reports of a third model from the manufacturer; the Xiaomi 13 Lite. The manufacturer provides the device with a special notch; just like Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Xiaomi 13 Lite with Dynamic Island

Apple introduced the Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 series. Actually nothing more than a much too large notch, for which a marketing term had to be invented. The manufacturer knows how to score nicely with it, by adding extra functionality. It now appears that Apple is not the only one to add the dynamic island as a notch to its smartphone. The Xiaomi 13 Lite has surfaced at a German retailer. Special about this smartphone is the presence of a rectangular notch, which is also reminiscent of this Dynamic Island.

It is striking that Android manufacturers are now following this step. Precisely when manufacturers want to keep the notch as small as possible and even want to place the front camera behind the screen in the future. However, with the Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi would not be the only manufacturer working on the same possibilities. For example, Realme would also be working on realizing a smartphone with this ‘feature’. It is unclear whether Xiaomi also adds extra functionality, although we think there is a chance.

Thanks to the listing at a German store, we also get to know the specifications of the smartphone. Xiaomi would provide the Xiaomi 13 Lite with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen and a 32-megapixel front camera. On the back, the smartphone gets a triple camera with a 50MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel camera. The battery capacity is 4500 mAh and it can be charged quickly with 67W. The manufacturer also places a maximum of 8GB of RAM in the device, together with 128GB of storage space. There is support for 5G and of course there is Android 13. The price of the device would start at 499 euros. We are curious if we will hear and see more of this device in Barcelona. DroidApp will travel to the MWC, so we’ll keep you posted anyway!
