Xiaomi 12 is small but nice
Xiaomi has chosen to make the 12 smaller than its predecessor. We’re going back to basics!
Big bigger Biggest. In recent years, smartphones have become a kind of fridge in your hand, so huge. Often you can no longer operate the functions on your device with one hand. Fortunately, there are still a number of manufacturers that make smaller phones. Apple, for example, with the iPhone SE and iPhone 13 mini, but there are also developments in Android.
Remarkably, Xiaomi has chosen to make the new 12 smaller than its predecessor. If the 11 had a 6.7-inch display, the 12 has to make do with a smaller 6.3-inch display. Bigger isn’t always better, says Xiaomi, because it doesn’t exactly make the phone more manageable. That is why the Chinese tech company is going back to basics. A striking move. Maybe more manufacturers will follow in 2022?
The further specifications of the Xiaomi 12 then. The device has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, a 50 MP + 13 MP + 50 MP camera setup, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. In addition to the 12, the 12 Pro and the 12X have also been announced. The Pro is the top model, while the X should represent an entry-level model under 12.
For now, the phones have only been announced for the Chinese market. However, there is a good chance that they will also come to Europe at a later stage. The new Xiaomi 12 will be sold in China for the equivalent of 510 euros.
