[Xbox Games Showcase] Fable, Avowed, Hellblade 2, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and all first party games featured at the conference

Xbox played very big during this Xbox Games Showcase. After a desert year 2022 and a red fall catastrophic, the Redmond firm had to flex its muscles, and it is an understatement to say that the contract is royally fulfilled with no less than 11 titles presented from Microsoft Studios. The new Fable, whose engine in engine impressive makes you forget the small disappointment of the virtual absence of gameplay, Avowedthis time with gameplay in first-person view, really interesting new content for Flight Simulator and especially Sea of Thieves (and its incredible crossover with Monkey Island !), without forgetting the new franchises of inXile or, and of course the heavyweights Starfield And Forza Motorsportsthe first even benefiting from a second part of the conference which was entirely devoted to it (and what a conf!).

And that’s not counting the announcements of games from third-party publishers, including a new exclusive from Atlus (all games from third-party studios are in this article). We also note that Xbox refuses to lie down in the face of the sirens of hyper realistic rendering (Unreal Engine 5 type), and that many of its large exclusives display a well-marked artistic direction. A breath of fresh air for the diversity of the offer. And of course, all these beautiful people will arrive day one in Game Pass.

Games first party presented during the Showcase:

Fable : developped by Playground Games, Fable has finally unveiled… its graphics engine, via a cutscene in engine really very impressive. If you look closely, it even seems that some very short sequences of gameplay have slipped into this superb teaser. The other good news is that the game has kept its original British humor. No release date yet, but Fable will be released on Xbox Series, PC and of course day one in Game Pass.

South of Midnight : this brand new franchise developed by the studio Compulsion impresses here again with its graphics engine (kinematics in-engine), but above all by its absolutely sublime artistic direction. If the whole game is of this ilk in terms of DA (and there’s no reason it shouldn’t be), then it really promises. Released on Xbox Series, PC and day one in the Game Pass, at an undetermined date…

Avowed : as the rumors announced, the RPG ofheroic fantasy studio first person view Obsidian Entertainment showed up via a pretty exciting gameplay trailer. The graphic style clashes and does not seek hyper realism (unlike Fable for example despite its humorous inspiration), but the action is very punchy, especially besides the casting of spells. Avowed will be released in 2024 on Xbox Series, PC and day one in Game Pass.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II : and one trailer more for the long-awaited Hellblade II, or rather… a new slap in our eyes. It’s confirmed: the game’s engine is sublime and even if it’s an in-engine cinematic that puts a little Senua’s story in this second part, we still see a short sequence of gameplay, just as technically incredible as the in-engine sequence. And what about the soundscape! Very heavy in approach, which will arrive next year on Xbox Series, PC and of course day one in the Game Pass.

Forza Motorsport : still just as gleaming and realistic, Forza Motorsport has once again unveiled its maddening curves, mainly to announce the game’s release date, set for October 10 on Xbox Series, PC and Game Pass. Pre-orders are open now, but of course it will arrive at no extra cost and day one in Game Pass.

Flight Simulator 2024 : we expected an extension of the title developed in collaboration with asobo (Plague’s Tale: Requiem), and finally, Microsoft is announcing a brand new version even more next-gen of the famous simulator! In addition to graphics still revised upwards (but how do they do it?), Flihgt Simulator 2024 will offer many more missions, such as rescue operations at sea, the fight against forest fires, or even the race of plane between giant cones. Released in 2024 on Xbox Series, PC and day one in the Game Pass (and probably at a steep price in the paid version).

In addition, and for flight simulator (2020) this time, pilots will be able to fly at the controls of the Ornithopter Atreides in a setting similar to that of the planet Arrakis. The extension will be available on November 3, the same day as the theatrical release of the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune!

Clockwork Revolution : the studio’s next game inXile will therefore be an FPS in an extremely detailed steampunk lore. “After you stumble upon an incredible invention that allows you to travel back in time, you discover that the city you call home ‘the bustling steam-powered metropolis of Avalon’ was carefully crafted through the modification of historical events. Returning to key moments, your interactions and choices will butterfly the deep, narrative world and characters of Avalon, causing them to shift and react in unprecedented ways.”. So much for the pitch. Release “when it’s ready” on Xbox Series, PC and day one in the Game Pass.

Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island : and a new adventure for the multiplayer pirate game, and let it adventure since the latter is inspired by the cult point’n click Monkey Island from LucasArts! After Pirates of the Caribbeanit is therefore another great classic of the “pirate” culture that invites itself into SoT, which increasingly confirms its status as “NMS of the Xbox” as the many updates and extensions have densified the experience. game. The Legend of Monkey Island expansion will be available on July 20 on PC, Xbox Series and day one in the Game Pass.

The Elder Scrolls Online – Journey to Necrom : a new adventure for the heroes of the multiplayer RPG TESO. “Discover the adventures you can experience in Tamriel right now, and uncover the mysteries to come in The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom. Are you ready to explore an all-new Peninsula of Telvanni and Apocrypha, wield the supernatural energies of the Warlock class, and delve into the secrets of Hermaeus Mora? ». Released on June 20 on Xbox Series, PC and in the Game Pass.

Fallout 76 – Answer the Call of Vault 76: “Answer the call of Vault 76 as you explore, quest, build, craft, and battle in a post-apocalyptic wasteland in West Virginia. One more expansion for the multiplayer post-apo RPG, which is really going up the slope after its sluggish debut. Note that the Atlantic City extension is also coming soon… A welcome follow-up from Bethesda.

Starfield : the highlight of the show was him, also because the second part of the conference was entirely devoted to him. Bethesda’s space RPG promises to be really monstrous, and even if we can wink at the rendering of faces (and again, it passes…), everything else really seems to be of a very high level. The scope of the lore is just monumental, and the possibilities seem much wider than what we could understand at first glance. This Starfield even sometimes looks like GTA in space… Released on September 6 on Xbox Series, PC and day one in the Game Pass. Long live!
