with these apps you are the jury

Ooooooo, ahaaaa! The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 starts next Tuesday. In the first semifinal, our S10, not to be confused with the Galaxy S10, will represent the Netherlands with her song ‘De Diepte’ and in the second semifinal it will be Jérémie Makiese’s turn with his song ‘Miss You’. In this article we therefore discuss the two best apps for following the Eurovision 2022. Apps in which you can find more information about the songs and the artists, sing along and play a jury member yourself.

1. Song Contest

Are you also going to sit down for it next week? A big bag of chips on the couch, the sound of your television set to ‘hard’ and enjoying the many songs that pass by. But let’s be honest, not every country comes on stage with a top song. There are always somewhat out of tune crows, or artists with a scream or a sweet song among them. And often with these artists you tend to give them a number, a number that lets you know what you think of the song, the performance or the styling. You can do the latter in the AVROTROS Song Contest app.

In this app you can rate all acts on the points ‘song’, ‘singing/performance’ and ‘act’. You can then compare your points with the rest of the Netherlands or with your friends. You can create a friend group in which you can see what your friends think of a certain country. And the latter is nice, because sometimes you completely agree with each other and sometimes you can’t imagine that your boyfriend or girlfriend can give that number a pass. In addition to giving figures, you can also get more information about the participants via the app and follow the news about Eurovision. The app can be downloaded via the link below.

2. Eurovision Song Contest

The Eurovision Song Contest app is the official app of the Eurovision. In the app you will find exclusive content such as interviews, videos and news from all artists. The app is also made in such a way that it functions as a kind of extra screen during the shows. For example, when a relevant artist is performing, the app shows the lyrics of his or her song, so you can sing along.

In addition to these features, you can also show your support for an artist. This way you can press the ‘cheer button’, giving this artist a kind of virtual applause. You can also vote via the app. However, the latter has had some problems in recent years. For example, some people did not receive confirmation of their vote, so it was not entirely clear whether their vote had come through. The organization promises to have solved this, but it is useful to keep this in mind. The app can be downloaded via the link below.
