With Icon Pack Studio you can create icons according to your taste
It’s always a bit of a hassle with icons on your phone. If you download a nice icon pack, those icons sometimes look nice, but sometimes just like always. That doesn’t look good. With the App of the Week Icon Pack Studio you avoid that: with it you can mainly adjust icons that already exist. This way you can make them the way you want.

Icon Pack Studio
To use Icon Pack Studio you do need a launcher that can work with it. Fortunately, the app itself indicates that after downloading: also which one you need with links to those apps in the Play Store. I chose Nova Launcher because many of you use it. Once the launcher has been installed, you can easily get started in Icon Pack Studio with the icons to create a pack in one go. This way you ensure that all icons are slightly adjusted and you have adjusted all icons on your phone in one go.

But if you prefer to do it individually, that is also very easy. For this you do not go directly into the Icon Pack Studio app, but you long press an icon from your home screen. You will then get the option to edit it (the pencil). You can then edit the shortcut and see that you can rename it. You can do that, but that’s not the point right now. Tap the icon. Then you get the choices for built-in, gallery apps, Icon Pack Studio and Find more themes. Of course you go to Icon Pack Studio.

Customize app icons
It then opens and if you go to the square with the arrow at the top right, you get the chance to make something beautiful out of it yourself. In the App Picker you can choose the icon of a particular app. Although I’m going to customize Gmail’s icon, I want to give it an Android icon, which is why I choose AW Reader. You will then see what is already possible from standard icon packs from the app, but if you do not want that, you can also go to ‘New’ at the bottom right.
Then you choose which type of icon you want it to be: Adaptive, Minimal or Textual. Adaptive is a convenient choice. You will then see the icon and all kinds of editing options. For example, I brought it forward a bit more and adjusted the color by adding a nice overflow with green. When you’re done, go to ‘Done’. This app mixes up English and Dutch quite a bit. Anyway: once ‘Done’ you will be back in the Edit Shortcut screen and you will see your home-brewed icon. Perfection!
Icon packs
Icon Pack Studio is not an app that pre-empts everything, so it is best to spend some time with it to see what is possible and what you really want to make. Have fun: you can do a lot of things with it for free and for nothing. There are also standard icon packs to choose from, if you like to use the creative minds of others. There are cool neon-like icons, but also a kind of drawn variant. However, for some packs you must have a Pro account at 4 euros per year or 9.49 euros forever.
