Anchor PowerWave II Stand review
We find the Anker PowerWave II stand in a box that also contains an adapter and a short user manual. It is striking that a round plug has been chosen and not a USB-C connection. This would make it easier for you to power the stand. The Anker PowerWave II feels solid and holds up well when we test the stability with a number of different smartphones.
Charging and Support
We pick up a number of suitable phones for testing wireless charging. The charging process starts almost immediately, which is striking that the wireless technology also generates some heat. Anker claims that you can use the charger with phone cases of up to 5 millimeters thick. We have tested this with a number of smartphones and can confirm that charging with a case works. You can position the phone both horizontally and vertically, as long as the charging part of the smartphone is properly positioned on the charging part of the stand.
Wireless charging is slower than charging via the regular method, but is an interesting and elegant solution for an office desk, for example. The maximum power output is 15 watts. Of course, that also depends on the smartphone used.
Rating
Are you looking for a wireless charger that looks neat and functions with a case, then the PowerWave II from Anker is probably the suitable candidate. The adapter of the PowerWave II stand is a bit difficult to replace by using a standard charging plug. The charger has a suggested retail price of 50 euros, but can be purchased more cheaply at some stores such as Bol.com, Amazon, GSMpunt and Belsimpel.
