Winter cities to visit in the Netherlands this Christmas holiday
It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go in these wintry cities. Definitely worth a visit, says Kidsproof.nl.
Embark
But hurry up if you want to go here: the grand and well-known WinterWelvaart in Groningen. From 16 to 18 December, the entire city will participate in this magical festival where you will find music, theatre, cabaret, stories and other special (children’s) activities around the most beautiful ships.

Magic Maastricht
Magical Maastricht lives up to its name. In December, all of Maastricht is decorated with lights, making a walk through this historic city even more beautiful. The Ferris wheel, the skating rink and cozy stalls on the Vrijthof complete the magic.

Make a note: round Zwolle this winter. In the cozy Hanseatic city you can visit the Ice Sculpture Festival between December 17 and March 5. With ice sculptures of up to six meters high! From 28 to 30 December, children can do crafts, play games and dress up as their favorite fairytale character during the Fairytale Festival. If you go between December 13 and January 24, you will end the day with the light image route.
