Overview: Apple announced all this on Monday

Last Monday was WWDC 2022 (Worldwide Developers Conference). Apple announced software updates for all of its devices at lightning speed. The company also showed two new laptops.

Here are all the major WWDC announcements in a row

These iPhones can (not) update to iOS 16

iPhone 13 Pro

Unfortunately, iPhones don’t last forever. With every new iOS version, older models drop out and iOS 16 is no exception.

Do you have an iPhone 6S (Plus), iPhone 7 (Plus) or iPhone SE (from 2016)? Then you will not be able to update to iOS 16 this fall. Your device will get stuck on iOS 15. The final version of iOS 16 is expected to appear in mid-September, along with the iPhone 14.

MacBook Air 2022: is the new laptop worth the price difference?

MacBook Air 2022 price difference

Apple unveiled a new MacBook Air last week. The laptop has been improved in several areas, but also hundreds of euros more expensive than its predecessor. The question therefore arises: is it worth the price difference?

The answer to this question is very personal. Especially when you spend a lot of time with videos, it can pay off to buy the 2022 version. If you are a more general user, then the ‘old’ version (from 2020) is probably more than fine.

CarPlay: you will get these new functions with iOS 16 this fall

Apple announced a massive update to CarPlay at WWDC 2022. This version will change the entire dashboard of your car, but it will take a while before this software comes out.

But do not be sad. This fall, iOS 16 will already bring several new CarPlay functions to your iPhone. We made an overview of all improvements.

Apple must switch to USB-C: these are the consequences

Apple has resisted it for years, but now it has to retreat. The European Parliament has decided that all electronic devices must have a USB-C connection from 2024. This means that the iPhone also has to tack.

A hard blow for Apple, because the company has so far held on tightly to its own Lightning connection. The impact of this measure cannot therefore be underestimated for Apple. But, what does the obligation of USB-C mean for you personally? We figured it out.

iOS 16 reveals: iPhone 14 Pro gets always-on screen

Order iPhone 13

We’ll have to wait until September, but developers can already get started with iOS 16. Thanks to this test version, they can prepare their programs in time for the release this fall.

And, more importantly, we already know a thing or two about the new iPhones. In the test version of iOS 16, for example, there are hints about the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). What seems? This year’s best iPhone will almost certainly get an always-on screen.
