New chip

Therefore, the S9 chip in the Apple Watch Series 9 will remain much the same, but it is slightly faster than the previous version.

Bluetooth is getting an update

The Apple Watch Ultra has received support for bluetooth 5.3. This year, this could be one of the features coming to the Apple Watch Series 9 as well. Apple is slowly but surely adding the new bluetooth version to all their products. Bluetooth 5.3 is a minor update, but adds some new features and is a bit more energy efficient.

More energy efficient: last longer with the battery

An improved chip usually means that you can do a little longer with a full battery charge. But Apple can also use this to give the always-on screen extra functions.

At the moment, Apple says the Apple Watch Series 8 can last about 18 hours on a battery charge (while connected to an iPhone). The Apple Watch Series 9 will probably add a few more hours of battery life. You can then do about a whole day and night (24 hours) with one battery charge.

Meet watchOS 10

We don’t expect many other new features. But one of the new functions that you will definitely find on the Apple Watch Series 9 is watchOS 10. Of course, watchOS 10 will get a few new functions, but it is not yet known exactly what they are.

Apple does have a number of patents up its sleeve, with which they can improve the health functions even more. According to rumors, the Apple Watch Series 9 can then better respond to your own needs and daily routine.
