Will the Galaxy S23 series be announced on December 23?
An interesting piece of news about the existence of the Galaxy S23 series. If we go by the new messages, it seems that Samsung wants to present the new Galaxy S23 series this year. The date has emerged from an alleged poster of the phone series.
Galaxy S23 still this year?
The new Samsung Galaxy S23 series is already going around in the rumor circuit. The phone manufacturer is mainly in the news with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to the reports, the new flagship should be equipped with a 200 megapixel camera. That’s not a bad idea, since, for example, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra already has its 200 megapixel lens from Samsung. We will therefore also see it in the Ultra, and it promises to be a true camera spectacle where the night mode gets a major upgrade, the reports report.
When we get to see the new Galaxy S23 series, that was unclear until now. However, there is now news to report. The South Korean telecom company KT Corporation seems to have made a render, on which we see the new S23. It is clearly not an official photo of Samsung itself, given that there are some Photoshop tinkering in between. The photos of the devices correspond to the previously published renders of the two smartphones. This means that the camera island is replaced by three separate lenses, which we are already seeing with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
23 December?
The render mentions a date on which the new S23 series can be pre-ordered. The manufacturer would start pre-orders on December 23. This period ends on January 5, which could mean that the phones will actually go on sale on January 6. A very interesting choice, since the last week(s) of December are usually closed due to all the holidays and the like. So it may just be different this year and that we will see the new S23 series within two months. For comparison; Samsung presented the Galaxy S22 series on February 9. These three smartphones then appeared on the market on February 25.
Date shift
The reason why Samsung may have moved this date is not clear. It may be that the foldable smartphones of the brand do not run as smoothly as hoped. Another reason could be that Samsung is feeling the hot breath of other brands such as Apple with the iPhone 14 series and Google with the recently presented Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. These two devices are also available in our country from this series. We recently published the Pixel 7 Pro review about this, and Samsung clearly has a competitor in certain areas. It is rumored that Samsung wants to provide the new Galaxy S23 series with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in all markets. That could be a big boost for the series, given that the Exynos chipset is less efficient than Qualcomm’s alternatives in several ways. Until now, the Snapdragon versions of Galaxy S22 models were only released in certain regions.
Samsung itself has not yet responded to the reports. So we will have to wait for official reports or for rumors circulating about the model range. Given the earlier S-series devices that went around in the news, the latter will not necessarily be a problem.
