New Xbox controller fails with players

The new Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core for Xbox is an alternative version of the Elite Series 2, so a cross between standard and high-end controllers. At 129.99 euros, it is not cheap, but quality control at Microsoft seems to have been asleep in this case.

From numerous posts in the Xbox Series X subreddit it appears that some players received either damaged or not fully functional goods to have. Reddit user TH_Rz shared pictures of his damaged controller, for example. It looks like someone tried to break open the controller.

Others report problems with the Bumpers and other keys not registering properly. Reddit users DamiK030 and THE_KING95 have published informative clips about it.

Conclusion: Many Reddit users advise against buying the new controlleralthough it does offer a few handy features with up to 40 hours of battery life, a rubberized grip and shorter hair-trigger locks, and an adjustable thumbstick.

At least in the official video, the controller cuts a fine figure:

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2: Now more color in the game

If you bought the controller anyway or are considering buying it, you can at least bring a little more color into play. Xbox announces that you now color match the Xbox buttons on your controller and thus individualize. You can also save up to three profiles, each with its own lighting scheme.

If you can’t find the option on your console yet, you’ll need to restart, according to Xbox. The colorful feature should then be available.
