When will my Samsung phone get the update?
Google will complete its new operating system with Android 12 in the coming weeks. Unlike many other manufacturers, Samsung does not participate in the beta program. When will the Galaxy smartphones get the update then? Experts are now giving an initial estimate.
Samsung smartphones will receive Android 12 later
While the Pixel smartphones receive the update to Android 12 from Google on the day of completion, owners of Samsung smartphones have to wait a little longer. The experts at SamMobile have received initial information. Samsung is not participating in the beta test that Google is holding. Manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Asus, Oppo, OnePlus and a few more already offer the test version for selected smartphones. Things are a little different at Samsung.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is already working on the Android 12 update with One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy S21 series. According to a community manager, the beta test should start soon. That would be two months faster than Android 11 and the S20 series. From October or November 2021 the first final Android 12 update for the smartphone is expected – if everything goes well.
In this Video can you see what’s changing with Android 12:
Which Samsung smartphones will receive the Android 12 update
As every year, the current top smartphone is initially supplied with the new Android version. This year, this is the Samsung Galaxy S21 in its various versions. This is usually followed by the Note series, followed by the folding smartphones, top smartphones from last year and mid-range phones. The good thing about Samsung is that smartphones are provided with updates for four years. It should take a little longer for Android 12 to really get everywhere – but it will come.
Of course, this also applies to Samsung Android tablets. Current models such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 will of course receive Android 12 in the foreseeable future.
