when is macOS 13 coming out?

It’s been almost half a year since Apple announced the latest macOS. So the question remains: when is the macOS Ventura release date?

Read on after the ad.

When is the macOS Ventura release date?

Apple is (as the company pretty much always is) mysterious about the release date of macOS Ventura. We know there are still some products to arrive this fall (which may include new Macs and some iPads). In the meantime, Apple has also indicated that the major Mac update is still this month: in October. The exact date is unfortunately unknown, but we can already make a good guess.

Usually we know a good week in advance that an update is coming. We can’t wait to try out the new features of macOS 13 Ventura. Also impatient? Read all about the release date of macOS Ventura in this article and let the anticipation begin!

Apple launches macOS Ventura in late October

We know that the launch of a new software version by Apple often takes place on a Monday. iOS 16, for example, also came out on September 12, 2022 half a month ago. That means that Monday October 3 and Monday October 10 come too early. We would have known by now.

Of course, on October 31, we all celebrate Halloween together (especially in the United States!). Apple never launches new things on holidays, and the macOS Ventura update isn’t that scary. We can therefore cross out this date. Then only 17 and 24 October remain. Since macOS Monterey was released on October 25 last year, we assume for the sake of convenience that the release date of macOS 13 Ventura will be on this year. Monday 24 October takes place.

This is all new in macOS Ventura

There are many new features in the 13th version of macOS. We have already listed the most exciting for you here. Although it doesn’t seem to run very smoothly on the iPad Stage Manager, we hope that it does with macOS 13 Ventura. With ‘Stage Manager’ you can better focus on the app you are using, because it parks all other apps on the sidelines. In addition, your Mail, Safari and Spotlight, among others, have received major improvements. Gaming should also be smoother with macOS Ventura.

We’re also very curious about the FaceTime compatibility between your Mac and your iPhone. Via HandOff, with macOS 13 Ventura you can now easily transfer calls on your iPhone to your Mac. It will also soon be possible to use your iPhone as a webcam for your MacBook. The ultra-wide angle lens plays a major role here with the so-called ‘Desk View’.
