WhatsApp will soon let you use all emoji as a response, this is what it looks like

What are WhatsApp emoji reactions?

If you use Messenger, Telegram, or iMessage, you probably already know what emoji responses are. Thanks to these reactions you can respond to a message with an emoji. WhatsApp has also had these emoji responses since the beginning of this year. This is handy because you can quickly respond to a comment with a thumbs up instead of typing a new message with a thumbs, which then sends everyone a notification. Now only the person who posted the message will get a notification.

To use it, long press a message and tap one of the emoji. Want to use a different emoji than the one you selected? Then long press the message again and choose another one. Want to remove the emoji? Then long press the message again and tap the same emoji response.

More emoji reactions to come

Unfortunately, you now only have six emoji reactions at your disposal. You can place a thumb, a heart, a smiling face with tear eyes, a surprised face, a face with a tear and two hands together. Meta director Mark Zuckerberg announced via Facebook that you will soon be able to paste all emoji in response to a WhatsApp messages. You’ll find some of his favorite emoji below.

In the editors, the new function already works in WhatsApp Beta. You will see a plus sign next to six emoji that opens a window where you can view and choose all emoji. In the video in this article you can see how this works. It is unknown when the feature will come to the stable version of WhatsApp. It may take a few more weeks before everyone can use it.
