If you send photos via messengers like Messenger or WhatsApp, you always have to sacrifice their quality as they are compressed. But that could soon change, as WhatsApp will soon let you send photos in their original quality.
WhatsApp lets you send photos in their original quality
The WABetaInfo website provides information on this feature, while the Android version lets you choose the quality of the photos you upload. You can choose either Best Quality, Data Saver nebo Auto. It is a small, but certainly welcome step. Currently, you can send photos in their original quality, but you must send them as files. This mode removes the annoying part and lets you send images directly from the gallery in their original quality.
Unfortunately, WhatsApp does not explain what the Auto option does. The function is said to be still evolving and will appear in the next beta version. The same function is also being worked on, but to be determined pro video. So we can expect to get both functions at the same time.
