WhatsApp wants to block screenshots of photos with Single View
Soon you will no longer be able to take screenshots of photos or those intended for WhatsApp in WhatsApp One time display. The developers are working on a way to block screenshots.
WhatsApp Single View
WhatsApp released its Single View photos and videos last year. After viewing such an image, you will not be able to see it later. Unless of course you took a screenshot. WhatsApp will block the taking of screenshots of such images, the reliable WABetaInfo has discovered in the code of version 2.22.18.16 of the app.
Just like in banking apps, users will see a notification that taking screenshots is not possible in the app. You can still take screenshots of other things in WhatsApp. Once the feature is available, beta users will see a pop-up notification telling them about the enhanced Single View media.
Yet you can say that WhatsApp could go a step further. For example, Snapchat users get a notification when someone tries to take a screenshot of a photo. Furthermore, you can still easily bypass the One-time view if, for example, you take a photo with a second phone or tablet as soon as the content appears. It is not known when the update will be available to beta testers of WhatsApp.

It was also announced this week that you will soon be able to recover deleted messages on WhatsApp. Furthermore, the Windows app now works without requiring a connection to your phone. It is also interesting that four new privacy functions are on the way and WhatsApp has recently also let you delete apps for an entire group.
Are you considering using the Single View messages once WhatsApp starts blocking screenshots? You may not find the feature interesting, or you may be concerned about alternative ways for recipients to retain such images. Let us know in the comments.
