whatsapp Status
With the Status function, you can share temporary updates with your contacts via WhatsApp. You can compare it a bit with Stories on Instagram. Here you place text, photos and videos, which will disappear from your Status after 24 hours.
WhatsApp Status has been around for some time, but it has not been used too eagerly in the Netherlands so far. We assume that WhatsApp wants to change this with these new features. We list them for you:
1. Private Audience Selection
This feature is for when you share a WhatsApp Status that you don’t want all your contacts to see. You can therefore select yourself who can see your status.
2. Voice Status
This gives you the option to record voice messages of up to 30 seconds and share them as Status. Handy for when you don’t feel like typing.
3. Status Responses
This allows your contacts to quickly and easily respond to your WhatsApp Status. You can respond by swiping up and tapping one of the eight emojis. Replying with text or a voice message is of course still possible.
4. Status profile rings for new updates
The new status profile ring appears around a contact’s profile picture when they share a status update. The ring is visible in chat lists, in group member lists, and in contact information.
5. Link previews in Status
When you post a link in your WhatsApp Status, you automatically see a preview of the content, just like when you send a message. These examples will immediately give your contacts a better idea of what the link means.
New features WhatsApp Status
These new features will be gradually made available worldwide and can be used by everyone within a few weeks. Whether the Status feature will gain popularity as a result of this remains to be seen.
