WhatsApp no longer works on an old iPhone: support stopped
WhatsApp has stopped support for old phones and the chat service will therefore no longer work on an iPhone with iOS 9 or lower. Do you (or maybe your parents) still use such an old animal? Then it is time to upgrade to a new device.

WhatsApp ends support for iOS 9 and below
Do you still have an old iPhone with iOS 9 or lower? Too bad, because then you can no longer use WhatsApp from now on. The app requires you to have iOS 10 or later installed. The iPhone 5 is currently the oldest device that runs on this version of the operating system. Do you have a device that is older? Then the chat fun is over.
The change was announced a few months ago and now it has finally come to the point that WhatsApp support for old iPhones will end. WhatsApp advises users with an old phone and an old version of iOS to switch to a new device.
